This is an entire-house rental for your private use.
- The owner stays on-site in a separate room (does not use the guest kitchen or toilet).
■ Check-in & Check-out
Check-in: After 3:00 PM
Check-out: By 10:00 AM
(Please contact us in advance for early check-in or late check-out.
Additional charges may apply.)
■ Temperature & Climate
There is no air conditioner in the house.
At 600m elevation, the area is cool even in summer,
and mornings/evenings may be chilly.
■ Parking
Free parking is available on the property.
■ Meals
- No meals are provided. Please bring your own food.
- There is only one small shop nearby.
- Dinner bento delivery is available upon request (optional).
- A light breakfast (bread & drinks) can be provided (optional).
■ Staying in a Traditional House
As this is a traditional old house:
- Insulation and soundproofing are limited.
- Insects may occasionally enter the house.
■ Check-out
- Please return the keys upon check-out.
(¥10,000 fee will be charged for lost keys.)
■ Safety Information
- Guesthouse Kannagara is surrounded by rich nature,which may involve certain risks such as insects entering the house, falling branches, snow sliding from roofs, icy roads, or encounters with wildlife such as bears, boars, snakes, and bees. There is also a possibility of coming into contact with toxic mushrooms or plants such as poison ivy.
- During your stay, please take personal responsibility for your safety and help prevent accidents. If you are traveling with children, please keep a close eye on them at all times.
- We also recommend taking good care of your belongings and valuables.
- Please take good care of your valuables and ensure that doors are locked at night. The guesthouse cannot be held responsible for any theft, loss, or accidents that may occur on the property.
- Our guesthouse is located in a quiet rural neighborhood.
■ Respect for Neighbors
Please avoid loud conversations, music, long chats outdoors, or loud car door sounds—especially late at night or early in the morning—as they may disturb our neighbors. We kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping the area peaceful during your stay.
- We also kindly ask you to observe the following community etiquette:
• Do not pick crops from nearby farms or collect natural items such as nuts or wild plants.
• Please do not take photos of local residents’ houses.
• If you wish to photograph a resident, always ask for their permission first.

■ Prohibited Items & Actions
- No open flames inside the house(smoking is only allowed in the outdoor smoking area).
- ※If smoking is detected inside the house, a cleaning fee of ¥50,000 will be charged.
- Do not open shelves or drawers (contain personal items / fragile).
- Handle shoji, fusuma, tatami, and flooring gently—they are delicate.
- Repair costs will be charged for damage caused intentionally or by negligence.
- No pets allowed.

The following cancellation fees apply to reservations:
- No-show / Same day / Day before: 100%
- 2 days prior: 70%
- 3 days prior: 50%
- 4 days prior or earlier: 0%
